on the square in llano, texas
Robin Chiesa is the Owner/Director of Llano’s newest gallery Circle on the square, a gallery of fine works. An artist at heart, Robin's artist pleasures are not always realized in concrete form, it becomes apparent through her enthusiasm of the arts themselves and the activities she pursues. In youth her favorite activities included playdough, paint by numbers, weaving kits and “How to sculpt your pony” and well you get the idea.
Later creative costuming was close to her heart and realized in her first owned business, Painted Velvet Vintage Clothing and Once Upon A Time Costume Rental. Most of Robin’s college education included Design, Sculpture and of course her favorite, Pottery. Eight semesters of pottery class later and several shows, events and competitions she had found a match! Well for the time being, that is.
Her high energy and many varied interests have seen her through multiple careers including visual merchandising for several well known retail stores, and jobs in both sales and promotion. In 1998 she moved from Texas to the wide open spaces of New Mexico where she owned and remodeled a 1800's church and rectory in the Manzano Mountains. Here she also became a licensed Massage Therapist and began her practice while experiencing the unmistakable love of art and culture there.
To be nearer family Robin returned to Texas with her New Mexico treasure, Russell Baros, also an artist. Robin and Russell now reside and collaborate in Llano, Texas where Robin has organized and hosted the Llano Starving Artist Sale and Show for 3 years. Robin is responsible for organizing the Llano Trail of Deer Community Art Project, the project benefits several important causes in Llano while promoting the arts. She is also Co - Owner of Hills of Texas Taxidermy.
